The Ruins Project is a long-term mosaic art installation amidst the ruins of a former coal mine in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. The Ruins is open year-round. A local genealogist searched for records of this accident in the Fayette County Coroner's Office, Uniontown newspapers, and other public records in Fayette County where such information might have been recorded, but came up with nothing.

Jun 13, 2020  Perryopolis would grow as the main town and marketplace for a number of the local farmers and grist mills in the early-mid 1800s. As the 19th century continued, coal and coke became the drivers of the local economy. Interestingly, it was not until 1953 that the Borough of Perryopolis was incorporated - being carved out of Perry Township.
